Hello 2012

Today is the first day back to "normal" of 2012. School started back up, so that is where Dathon is. Aubrey is at the table doing her school work. Jay is back to work after a long weekend. And, here I am. Looking back over 2011.
It was a fairly quiet normal year until about Sept. I went for my normal check ups, knowing full well I was looking at a hysterectomy. What I didn't know was that I would be diagnosed diabetic and before any doctor would go near doing a hyst I would need to get my sugar under control and not knowing how long I have been diabetic,I needed to have all kinds of tests to make sure there was no damage from the diabetes to other organs.
Long story short, 2 meds, a slight change in my diet, and insulin and my sugar is under control. Tests revealed there was no damage from the diabetes. So, on December 13th I had my hysterectomy. Today, I am feeling great. Still have to take things easy, and no lifting over 5 lbs, but other than that I feel good.
Odd weather day here, it is 32 degrees and supposed to get colder.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...Cloudy, cold, leaves are falling off the trees.

I am thinking...I am staying inside today.

I am thankful...For a WONDERFUL husband who has taken care of me, the kids, the house, the shopping, cooking and cleaning while I am down from the surgery. I am blessed.

In the kitchen...Meatballs, home made spaghetti sauce, grilled vegees.

I am wearing...Leggings, T shirt, a hoodie, and fluffy slippers.

I am creating...A list of things I want to do once the doctor clears me.

I am going...Nowhere today. Tomorrow night is Family Night at church.

I am wondering...How long this cold weather will last and when will it come back.

I am reading...The Resolution for Women

I am hoping...that 2012 will be a happy, healthy year for us.

I am looking forward to...Getting off restriction.

I am learning...Way more about diabetes than I wanted to.

Around the house...Doing laundry and a little light cleaning.

I am pondering...the menu for the rest of the week. I am going to try and take over cooking this week.

A favorite quote for today...Spread love everywhere you go; first of all in your house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile. ~ Mother Teresa

One of my favorite things...The sounds of my family laughing

A few plans for the rest of the week: Church on Wed. Surgery follow up appt.

A peek into my day...A bit of cleaning and cooking, other than that, still resting.
